Brooks's is an exclusive private members club that was established in 1778. At this time, life for gentlemen centred around gaming, gossip and good dress. Early members of the club included Charles Fox, Lord Crewe, Lord Robert Spencer, Sir Joshua Reynolds, Garrick and Sheridan.
