Lambeth Palace has been the seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury since 1200. The palace is a palimpsest of architectural styles and eras, from Medieval to Victorian. As the Palace is still the residence of the current Archbishop, the public must write for permission to view the interiors. The Palace houses an extensive library of ecclesiastical records.
