Founded in 1961, Whitechapel Gallery focuses on a collection of visual art which is aimed to provide not only an appreciation, but an understanding and interest in art. As well as displaying background information, they also provide workshops within the gallery itself as well as in many public buildings such as hospitals, health centres and schools. Some exhibitions have admission charges.
