The car tyre is a lightweight, flexible rubber that's designed to transfer energy from the rolling wheels to the ground. Tyres are available in three basic sizes: radial, bias and bias belted. The latter has its name because it runs over four belts around a central axis rather than two belts side-by-side as with a bias belted tyre.
